Our Commitment.
Every painting that leaves Heather Ford Gallery is carefully inspected and packed to the highest standard. Because each piece is an original one of a kind work of art, we handle every return request with the same care and attention we give to every sale.
Return Eligibility
We accept returns on original paintings within 14 days of personal possession. To be eligible for a return the artwork must be in its original condition, unaltered, undamaged, and returned in its original packaging or equivalent protective packaging.
The 14 Day Possession Period
The return period is 14 days from the date you take personal possession of the artwork. This date begins when you or someone you designate receives the painting, not the date of shipment or attempted delivery.
How to Initiate a Return
To begin a return please contact us through the contact form on this website within the 14 day period. Include your order number, the name of the piece and your reason for returning. We will respond within 2 business days with return instructions. Do not ship the painting back before receiving written confirmation from us.
Return Shipping and Insurance
The buyer is responsible for all return shipping costs and insurance. Original oil paintings are fragile and valuable. We strongly recommend using a tracked courier service and purchasing insurance for the full purchase value of the artwork. Heather Ford Gallery is not responsible for any damage that occurs during return transit. If a painting arrives back damaged due to inadequate packaging by the buyer, no refund is issued and the seller retains the painting.
Refund Process
Once the returned painting is received and inspected we will notify you within 3 business days. If the return is approved your refund will be processed to your original payment method within 7-10 business days. Original shipping costs are non refundable.
Damaged in Transit
If your painting arrives damaged please do not attempt a standard return. Contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photographs of the damage to both the artwork and the packaging. We will work with you directly to assess the damage and find a resolution. Claims made after 48 hours of delivery cannot be accepted.
Exclusions
The following are not eligible for return. Commissioned or custom works created to your specifications. Artworks returned without prior written confirmation from Heather Ford Gallery. Returns requested outside the 14 day possession period. Artworks that show signs of damage, alteration, or handling beyond initial inspection.
Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to update this policy at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
